Notes

General Notes:

Often overshadowed by the novelty of the night before, this was always
a favorite show of those I attended because of the great performances
by all band members. Highlights include a psychadelic ending on Iko
(w/Phil on vocals too), a moving China Doll out of a very innovative
modal jam post UJB, and a thunderous Dew out of Space.

Given the multiple sources available on the Llama, I decided to put the
effort into editing a matrix since I was never completely happy with
the SBD. The result is a worthwile listen, especially given that none
of the existing sources are complete

A fine matrix source that captures everything in the show, plenty of crowd (but nothing overbearing), and letting the sbd come through crystal-clear - a great companion piece to DP21 is this recording.

Set 1 for me here is the supreme goods - '85 was a year when their first sets were chock full of amazing playing - this one is absolutely spectacular. Set 2 fares very well in comparison, with some standout moments (China Doll, the absolutely diabolical Drums > Space sequence) leading up to that really powerful AM Dew - Jerry's voice may evoke Fozzy Bear a bit too much in this era for some tastes, but the amount of sheer soul he pours into this one will impress any deadhead.

Maybe the last great show of '85 -

How about the PITB tease after China Doll. Boffy was ready to roll with it but after a heart felt China Doll, Jerry was ready to roll a fatty.

Subject: Same SBD Source?
Sounds like this needs pitch correction as well, just like the sbd. Is this using the same sbd source? If so why no pitch correction? Appreciate the efforts, if someone could clean this up it would be fabulous, I would if I could.

Subject: This sounds great
This is one of my favorite shows. I was there for both nights, but had to drive home to take my SATs on saturday, so my enjoyment on 11/1 was limited; but, fortunately, on this night was a party. I had a mediocre audience of this up until now, but this matrix is killer. Love it! Vivid memories of this show, mostly acid induced. Gotta love it!
